We continue to have low prevalence of COVID 19 with five active cases. None of the active cases are students. Currently, 36 community members are in quarantine, none of whom are in on-campus quarantine spaces.
Safe travels. As students prepare to travel home, I want to share this helpful tip sheet provided by the Ohio Department of Health. Again, we feel very good about the viral health of our Denison community but urge students and families to operate out of an abundance of caution as students return to their home communities.
Ohio curfew. This week, Governor DeWine issued a 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. statewide curfew that goes into effect this evening. The curfew is not intended to stop individuals from performing necessary tasks like getting groceries or getting carry-out or drive-thru service at restaurants. It is intended to reduce contact among individuals, especially among groups of people. In compliance with the order, all on-campus gatherings (both indoors and outdoors) should end by 10 p.m., and trips off campus should be limited to those which are necessary.
Reminder for faculty and staff. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have been identified as a close contact of someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please email COVID19Questions@denison.edu or call 740-587-5597 right away to inform the university and for information and guidance on our COVID-19 workplace protocols.
As a reminder, starting next week, I will send updates weekly unless circumstances require more frequent communication.
Thank you again, and congratulations Denisonians!
