Dear Campus Community,
As we enter our final week on campus, COVID-19 cases remain low. On Friday we administered 186 departure tests to students. All of those results are in and all are negative. We have a small number of additional tests scheduled this week for students needing testing for travel purposes.
We currently have five active COVID-19 cases, they are within our faculty and staff community. These cases do not appear to have stemmed from on-campus transmission and are unrelated to one another. Contact tracing has been conducted for each case with very few close contacts being identified within our campus population. Those contacts are being or have already been tested and are quarantining for 14 days. We have 28 individuals total in quarantine with just one of those being in an on-campus quarantine space.
I hope you all take some time this week to acknowledge and appreciate what we accomplished together this semester. We should all feel incredibly proud of the care, creativity, agility, and determination with which we met the challenges of COVID-19. We protected the health of our community, advanced the academic mission of the college, and found ways to create and sustain the relationships and experiences that make Denison such a special place.
I am proud and grateful to be a Denisonian. Thank you.
