The counseling team is committed to providing students with care, service and support. In line with their commitment to student and clinician safety, counseling sessions will take place through teletherapy in the majority of situations this semester.
Teletherapy allows both the student and clinician to fully see each other’s faces and expressions, which is very important in the context of a meaningful counseling relationship. Some students may feel more comfortable engaging in a counseling session from a space other than their residence hall room (if their roommate might be in the room at the same time). In anticipation of that, we’ve designated additional spaces throughout campus that students can reserve for these private conversations. Those rooms are Burton Morgan 220, Fellows 209, Knapp 202, and Higley 408 (reservable through Denison’s Accuity Scheduler). Check out an upcoming Wellness Newsletter for more information. As a reminder, counseling is free to all students.
