The university received a generous gift that allowed us to purchase individual room air cleaners, manufactured by Molekule, for residence hall rooms that have multiple people sleeping in the same room. The use of open windows and window fans to circulate fresh air will be the top-line strategy for enhancing air circulation in these residential spaces. These units offer another layer of air filtration, especially when the windows cannot be open.
The units are included in each room as part of the university supplied furniture and as such need to be treated accordingly and returned in working condition when vacating a room. The units can be easily operated in manual mode, instruction manuals are provided or they can be found on the Molekule web site.
In addition to small units for student bedrooms, Denison is placing larger wall-mounted HEPA air filtration systems in residence hall lounges and other common areas across the campus. These are highly rated commercial-grade systems with high rates of air filtration.
