In preparation for arriving on to campus in August, we ask students to take the following actions:
We are asking all students to limit their exposure by self-quarantining starting August 1. This includes staying home, limiting visitors at home, not sharing things like towels and utensils, and if leaving the house is absolutely necessary, following very strict protocols related to mask wearing, social distancing, and hand washing. The more that every student can limit your exposure to others during these next two weeks, the less the likelihood that anybody brings COVID to campus.
Monitor and Track Symptoms: To reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19, it will be important for each member of the Denison community to monitor their own health. We will ask all faculty, staff, and students to complete a daily symptom check throughout the semester. In preparation and in order to establish good habits, we are asking all students to begin symptom monitoring and check in two weeks prior to arrival on campus. Each day beginning July 27, students will complete and submit their daily symptom check. More details about how that will occur will be sent to students as we approach July 27.
To ensure students receive the daily reminders to complete the symptom check, they should log into their MyWellness Portal (in MyDenison) to verify their mobile phone number within their profile settings. Students who cannot access the portal prior to arrival should contact the Wellness Center at Wellness@denison.edu or 740-587-6200.
During move-in, staff will check the MyWellness Portal to ensure students have completed their daily symptom check. In order to protect the community, we also ask any visitors traveling to have also monitored their own symptoms for two weeks prior. It’s important that students begin this daily practice and establish the habit before moving into the residence halls.
