Denison’s comprehensive testing, tracing and mitigation practices (that did not exist in spring) are designed to help the university minimize and manage the risk of infection on campus. And, the hybrid academic approach gives us a great deal of flexibility in how we would respond to an outbreak. The exceptional measure of shutting down the campus would occur in the case of a widespread outbreak in which moving off campus is advised by public health officials. Denison is working on a housing plan so that international students will not have to return home prior to the end of the academic year. Faculty have been asked to plan coursework throughout the semester so that any unanticipated ruptures to campus life might be accommodated.
